PROJECT TITLE: Pilbara LNG Inshore Geophysical Survey
CLIENT: BHP Billiton Petroleum
LOCATION: Western Australia
DATE: 2005

BHP Billiton Petroleum contracted EGS Survey Pty Ltd (EGS) to undertake a detailed geophysical survey and preliminary geotechnical study. The survey was undertaken to facilitate the design of infrastructure to enable offshore to onshore Natural Gas transportation/transfer. A 107 square km area was surveyed in addition to a 43km pipeline route, a 20km shipping channel, a jetty and several possible spoil zones.

EGS utilized the vessel MV Lobo for survey operations, together with a Real-Time-Kinematic (RTK) land based reference station to provide accurate surface horizontal positional accuracy of better than 5cm and to aid in the reduction of bathymetric data to project datum.
