Bathymetric surveys have been revolutionised by recent advances inswath multibeam echo sounding technology. These methods produce accurate maps of the seabed, detecting very small seabed features, even if they fall between survey lines. EGS has carried out swath sounding surveys from very shallow water to full ocean depth.

EGS is recognised as an industry leader in multibeam data acquisition and processing and continues to invest in the development of swath technology as evidenced by our detailed equipment inventory. Our substantial development efforts in this field include high resolution data acquisition, data presentation and visualisation, and near real time charting.
