After four months of tropical sunshine, the Sydney weather is actually a welcome change. EGS Survey vessel RV Geo Resolution has completed the SX NEXT geophysical and geotechnical survey after 127 days of surveying work covering 12,982 kilometres of cable route corridors.
The initial Southern Cross NEXT build will be a high capacity express route, providing data-center connectivity between Sydney, Auckland, and Los Angeles, and is on target for completion during 2019.
